As part of my university's rugby team i sometimes find it hard to stay the straight and narrow, mainly due to the fact almost everytime i go out with them i get absolutely smashed and generally dont remember the occurances of the night before. Last night was one such night, not only have i now got a raging headache i think i trapped my finger in a door so all in all not a great night. Creatine
@ 22/03/2007 – 07:56:15 pm
Lots of people ask me why I take creatine. What does it do for you? Is it dangerous? Heres some info for anyone interested.
How does it work?
Creatine occurs naturally uin the body and sort of acts as quick energy source for your muscles when they are used in quick bursts, for example weight lifting or sprinting. Supplementing the muscles with extra means that you have more energy for workout or sports and therefore can indirectly help you gain strength or build muscle as you are able to do work at a much higher intensity.
There are alot of rumours surrounding creatine and water retention, creatine does in fact cause water retention but this is not a bad thing. This extra water is actually stored within the cells themselves which would just make your muscles look bigger.
You know that burn you get on a long run? Thats lactic acid building up in your muscles, extra creatine in the muscles will delay the onset for longer, so you can do what you are doing for longer.
However the effect do change dramatically person to person depending on the natural saturation of creatine in the muscles and it is important that creatine is a naturally occuring substance so there are few associated side effects

motivation for the lagging man
@ 13/03/2007 – 09:25:05 pm
This is one of my favourite quotes by the late bruce lee.
If you always put limit on everything you do, physical or anything else. It will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them
work and play hard!
